Separating Intensive Interaction ‘Means’ from ‘Ends’
Us in a Bus and The Intensive Interaction Institute are delighted to be co-hosting an Intensive Interaction Weekend Workshop which will provide an inexpensive and accessible Intensive Interaction development event for practitioners to share thoughts, ideas and experiences across the full range of working and care contexts.
Building on previous successes, the Intensive Interaction Weekend Workshop is a gathering of Intensive Interaction practitioners that is designed to be friendly and informal – but it is also an effective means of learning, of usefully networking and also of simply enjoying a weekend away from it all with a group of like-minded people.
The focus of the weekend will be on the kind of long-term outcomes are we looking for when using Intensive Interaction, and how best we might achieve these outcomes, with workshops facilitated by Graham Firth, Anne Laney, Lynette Menzies and Victoria Goody.
Some other outcomes of the weekend:
1) To become part of a supportive network of Intensive Interaction practitioners and advocates.
2) To collaboratively develop positive solutions to specific Intensive Interaction ‘issues’ raised by attendees which can then be more effectively addressed.
3) To have a great time and come away really energised!!!
Intensive Interaction resources to be made available over the weekend:
- The combined knowledge and experiences of all the other Intensive Interaction Weekenders.
- All the currently available Intensive Interaction books, packs and DVDs to browse or watch outside of workshop time.
- Electronic files of the published Intensive Interaction research and academic papers to look at during the weekend.
We have secured great accommodation in the middle of the country to try and appeal to as many people as possible. We will also be keeping the costs down by doing some communal catering (as in previous years). We’ll work in teams to each provide a meal – we’ll send out further details when you book and finalise in the weeks before the Weekend.
The weekend commences on Friday 11th October at 4pm and ends just after lunch Sunday 13th October.
