Judy is one of the founding Trustees of Us in a Bus, having been involved in the initial planning stages and serving on the advisory group for the original Us in a Bus project set up by Scope before the organisation became an independent charity.
She worked for many years in the voluntary sector, leading various projects that provided information and training on play and leisure for disabled people of all ages.
She is a qualified trainer and author, specialising in play and sensory work for disabled children and young people, and for adults with profound and complex needs. Her experiences of delivering training around the country in a wide range of care and education settings often reinforce the value of Us in a Bus’s work and remind her that we all need to communicate with each other and form respectful relationships.
Judy is the Trustee responsible for Human Resources and serves on the Employment Committee. She works as a freelance trainer, and the rest of her time is devoted to gardening, growing organic vegetables and walking in the Surrey and Hampshire countryside.
